Nude eyeliner is a magical trick that makes small eyes appear larger and wipes away the remnants of a hangover. Nude eyeliner is also the answer for a future bride who wants her wedding photos to be nothing less than perfect.
Whoop, whoop, happy Hump Day hotties, and welcome to another edition of Ask the Pro Stylist where I attempt to answer readers’ and clients’ hair, nails and beauty questions. A client of my husband’s mobile Disc Jockey business, FMDJS, the best wedding DJ/Entertainer on Long Island, knew I used to do makeup for weddings. She relayed a question to me through my DH about her bridal makeup. She’d heard white eyeliner helps to make the eyes look bigger and was wondering if she should use it on her wedding day. As with all of my answers, LOL, it was a lengthy one and I emailed her my response.
First I advised her to find a makeup artist for the big day on LI Weddings.com. Having someone else service you reduces a great deal of stress. I then told the pending bride to not use white, as it could make the eyes look scary, especially if they become red from happy tears.
Instead I suggested she opt for nude eyeliner. Sephora carries nude eyeliner from Tarte; Lights, Camera, Lashes Inner Rim Liner. It creates a “wide-awake effect” and is made without parabens, sulfates and phthalates, is cruelty-free and contains no mineral oil, triclosan or synthetic fragrance. I prefer Tarte makeup and use its clay eyeliner frequently.
Nude eyeliner on the inside water line will offset any redness that might occur from happy tears, stress or too much drinking the night before. Nude eyeliner makes the eyes appear less tired as well and opens up smaller eyes. If the eyes are puffy the morning of the big day use a little Preparation-H to reduce swelling for picture-perfect wedding eyes. A dab of light eyeshadow near the tear duct will also expand the eyes and brighten them.
