To begin, the title, The Beauty of Dirty Skin, might seem a bit off-putting. However, look beyond what you think it references and give each page careful consideration.
As a hairstylist, beauty writer, cosmetology teacher and school director, I have always known most of the Bowe Glow secrets. Even as a teen, whenever I suffered a breakout, my mother would always ask if I had a “dirty stomach.” Well, it appears mom does know best. In The Beauty of Dirty Skin Dr. Bowe goes further with what insiders already knew. She applies her years of research, recommendation of probiotics and breaks down simple and delicious recipes to have beautiful skin.
Ironically, when I suffered from certain intestinal ailments a few years back, I used oral probiotics regularly. When things returned to normal, I gave them up and tried some other remedies. Coincidentally (or not), that is when I noticed my skin begin to age. After reading her book, I am adding them again into my regimen. In addition, green tea is now back in my morning ritual and little by little sugar is leaving my lifestyle (not that it enveloped it at all).
The point is beauty lovers, that change begins with you and this book. Not only will your skin look radiant, but you will get more sleep, feel better and possibly lose a bit of excess weight. Not bad, right? And, as a result have beautiful skin. See the pattern here?
You might have seen Dr. Bowe on Good Morning America, The Rachel Ray Show, The Doctors or Dr. Oz. She is based out of New York and touts a who’s who of celebrity clients.
In the book, Dr. Bowe provides data-driven knowledge and life-changing, actionable advice, including:
- An explanation of the gut-brain-skin axis, the hidden factor of skin health.
