Blonde Hair Color Correction
Blonde hair color correction is not a simple feat, and should never be done at home. Thankfully, in this week’s Q&A, the reader only wanted to know when she could return to the salon to have her highlights redone. It’s Hump Day, whoop whoop! Welcome to Wednesday’s Q&A with Ask the Pro Stylist. Lisa wrote in, wanting to know how soon she could have her highlights redone for a blonde hair color correction.
Hi Deidre.
I love your hair by the way 🙂 I have naturally dark blonde hair. I have it streaked with blonde foils. Recently I had a full semi color on top of my bleached blonde streaked hair. I hated the color! Two weeks later I had a full head of blonde streaks done, but the streaks didn’t look very blonde…I don’t believe the hairdresser stripped out the original color that I had done. It has now been 4 weeks since the full head of blonde streaks, and I want to know if it is too soon to have my blonde streaks done again? My hair is in good condition. I do treatments every week.
I told Lisa it wouldn’t be too soon for a visit to the salon, however, not sure of what “semi” color was used, or how dark it was; I suggested she consult with the stylist/colorist that tends to her hair for her blonde hair color correction.
When it comes to semi or demi hair color, I turn to Paul Mitchell the color, shines XG, or PM Shines. After my own highlights, I apply PM shines, a demi-permanent translucent hydrating color that tones my highlights at a level 9, adds shine, and leaves it healthy and conditioned.
To condition and replenish lightened hair I recommend Forever Blonde, as mentioned in other articles. If you have a question similar to Lisa’s blonde hair color correction query, please email me at DeirdreAHaggerty@gmail.com. Until then, happy styling!
