Happy Tuesday gorgeous and welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s beauty guide of the week. Today we learn how to recreate Jaimie Alexander’s braided Mohawk from the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on June 4 in Los Angeles. Matt Fugate, Kérastase Consulting Hairstylist, is responsible for creating the 32-year-old Blindspot actress’ celebrity hairstyle.

Matt gave Jaimie “a very ‘Warrior Helen of Troy’ style to complement her beautiful, flowy dress.” Says Fugate, “We decided to add two micro braids to help secure the hair during the windy day.

Using hair products from Kérastase Paris, Matt offers his step-by-step guide to recreate Jaimie Alexander’s braided Mohawk “battle-like look.”

  • First, prep the hair with Nutritive Bain and Fondant Magistral.
  • Then, use L’incroyable Blowdry on damp hair and blow-dry the product in.
  • Create two very fine, hairline braids and secure with pins.
  • Once the braids are complete, spray VIP Volume in Powder throughout the hair to give body and lift.
  • Next, wrap the curling iron around the hair in different sections to create a very messy look.
  • Grab and roll the hair. Pin in both the middle and again towards the nape of neck for a faux mohawk look. (Jamie has an edgy cut with graduation down the back, so Matt wanted to play that up with the rolling of the hair.)
  • Spray Fix Fabulous on the braids. Then dry them using a little sock over the blow dryer nozzle to help set the style.
  • To conclude, finish the look spraying Laque Noire all over.
