Curly Wedding Hairstyles Make Beautiful Bridal Looks

Curly wedding hairstyles make beautiful bridal looks, particularly for sweetheart or off-the-shoulder gowns. Curls and waves are very much the current beauty trend and they scream sexy romance. This week’s curly wedding hairstyle tutorial is number four in a five-part series to help brides choose their look that complements the most important dress you’ll ever wear.

There is never a wrong time to search for curly wedding hairstyles. You want the perfect hair to complement the dress of your dreams. Ask the Pro Stylist has devoted five weeks to bridal looks. Last week’s featured wedding hairstyle was a pleated braid wedding updo. This Tuesday’s tutorial is all about the curls.

The guide is courtesy of Lizzie Liros, wedding hairstyle specialist and White Sands Hair Care, a favorite of Ask the Pro Stylist. Each week Ask the Pro Stylist details how-to recreate a look at home, or I reiterate style guides from other hair professionals for those in the industry to use on clients, or for brides to take to their favorite stylist for the big day.

This week features the fourth of a five-part bridal collection series with wedding hairstyles from Lizzie Liros. The curly wedding hairstyle combines the current curly hair trend and makes it elegant, yet soft and romantic. It is perfect for an off-the-shoulder wedding gown. The last bridal hair tutorial will be featured here next week, and these final two focus on curly wedding hairstyles.

  • Blow-dry the hair with White Sands Liquid Texture Firm Hold Thermal Styling Spray before styling.
  • Create a clean straight left (or right) hand side part, but not in the middle. Deep side parts are right off the fashion runway.
  • Create 1-inch sections beginning at the nape and with a conical wand, (Ask the Pro Stylist recommends Enzo Milano), curl a section at a time holding the hair at a 90-degree angle and winding from roots to ends.
  • Continue until the full head is complete and be sure the hair is curled very tight.
  • Curly Wedding Hairstyles TIP: Do not stretch or pull on the hair after winding, as you want to keep a very tight curl.
  • Allow the hair to cool for 10 minutes.
  • With a large tooth comb, or your fingers, gently comb curls to slightly loosen.
  • Using a small tooth comb gently comb out curls at the top crown section to create a smooth finish, but do NOT disturb the curls throughout the hair.
  • Curly Wedding Hairstyles TIP: Be careful not to disturb the curls too much, and remember you can use your fingers to create more texture and separation.

Be sure to come back next week for the last of Lizzie Liros’ curly wedding hairstyles, romantic mermaid curls. Until then, happy styling!
