DIY Nail designs for prom, a gold and black French mani, is this Tuesday’s guide in Ask the Pro Stylist’s prom series to give grads hair and nails ideas for the end of the year adventure. This week’s how-to comes from Ariana Pierce, CEO and Founder of Superstar Nail Lacquer.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day hotties and thank you for visiting Ask the Pro Stylist. Every Tuesday a how-to guide is featured. From now until prom, each week will be dedicated to looks for that much-anticipated bash.
This week we have a special DIY nail designs for prom treat from fashion expert Ariana Pierce, CEO of SuperstarNailLacquer.com and Styleshoppe.com, a business coach, television personality, and motivational speaker. Her influence as a trendsetter has gained attention from Glamour, InStyle, and OK Magazine and she has been named contributing editor and blogger for Vogue Magazine’s Influencer Network and Lucky Magazine.
Popular among celebrities, Superstar Nail Lacquer is 100% toxin-free and vegan-friendly and “provides rich girl beauty on a real girl’s budget.” Discussing spring nail trends, Ariana recommends nudes such as Skinny Vanilla Latte, which “compliments every skin tone and can be easily upgraded with a dash of nail art or crystals.” Additionally, “popping neon colors like orange, yellow, pink and green are definitely back for spring as well.”
The nail art Ariana sent over was recommended for an awards show viewing party, emulating the nail fashion seen on the red carpets that have both a “classy and captivating,” style. With more teens opting for glamour and elegance, I thought the “French manicure with Superstar Nail Lacquer’s Miami at Midnight (black) and Soho Chic, which is a metallic gold that will automatically add a pop of jazz to your nail beds,” would be ideal DIY nail designs for prom.
According to Ariana, “you’ll see that instead of doing the traditional white tip across the nail, there is black lacquer in the shape of a V. This adds some spice and depth to the nail. Also, opting for the metallic shade will give your nails sparkle and shine without looking too gaudy.” Her step-by-step guide for DIY nail designs for prom is as follows.
DIY Nails Nail Designs for Prom

- Paint all your nails with a metallic shade. Pictured is Soho Chic.
- Now create what looks like a V at the tip of your nails with black. Pictured is Miami at Midnight.
