DIY Spa Pedicure With Listerine

DIY Spa Pedicure at Home

For a DIY spa pedicure at home, look no further than your bathroom medicine cabinet and pantry. You’ve seen the viral photo throughout social media. Ask the Pro Stylist has recently sampled the mixture and highly recommends the DIY spa pedicure.

Happy Tuesday beautiful, and welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s how-to guide of the week. I have wanted to sample today’s DIY spa pedicure for sometime, and finally did. I was truly shocked to see how effective it was in removing the dead skin from my heels without the use of a pumice stone.

You’ve undoubtedly seen the attached picture and wondered if Listerine works as an ingredient in a DIY spa pedicure. Well, it does. I used the following recipe:

  • 1 part Listerine Antiseptic Mouth Wash
  • 2 parts warm water
  • Soak once, or twice a week for 15-20 minutes

Other recipes include vinegar or apple cider vinegar:

  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • ¼ cup Listerine
  • ½ cup warm water

Vinegar regulates the pH levels in the skin and acts as a remedy for many skin conditions such as acne or psoriasis. The active ingredients in Listerine have been said to have an anti-inflammatory effect. I used my footbath without vinegar, and was amazed to see excess skin rolling off. The result was a very satisfactory DIY spa pedicure and soft feet.

The Listerine soak is great for in between visits to the spa, and an ideal way to avoid the pestering to scrub the dry skin away with possible unsanitary tools. Visit next Tuesday for another how-to guide similar to this week’s DIY spa pedicure. Until then, happy styling!
