Emmys Hair: The Best and Worst Hairstyles of the 2016 Emmy Awards
The Emmys hair seen at this year’s 68th Annual Emmy Awards had a more casual feel, with some genuine hits and sad misses. Since Ask the Pro Stylist kicks off every week with the Hair Police, let’s see which Emmy hairstyles were the best and worst of the red carpet.
Happy Monday beautiful and welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s Hair Police column of the week! Today we celebrate Emmys hair. Obviously, my opinion is subjective. However through years of experience, it is usually on par with my fellow experts.
Following the galleries are my Emmys hair breakdown. While the fashion of the red carpet does warrant some critiquing, today focuses solely on the hairstyles that complemented (or not) the gowns of the night.

While Sofia Vergara is always a fan favorite, sticking to sultry gowns with hair to match, 2016 saw a playful Sofia. This year’s Emmys hair stuck to the trend of the night, a casual feel with a youthful half-up ponytail, via Ariana Grande.
Next is Julianne Hough who kept the look clean and simple with a slicked back, straight hairstyle.
Game of Thrones stole the awards show. So did Maisie Williams with her topknot and messy fringe.
You can never go wrong with a low bun. Allison Janney took the look a step further with another hot red carpet trend, a side-swept fringe.
Emmy winner Kate McKinnon also won the red carpet for her bouncy texture. As a result, I will exclaim, “I love her hair!”
Kirsten Dunst kept to the glamorous life with a sleek, wavy look. However, it also had a touch of a casual side.
Tina Fey is one of my favorites, and I love her off-center part with waves for the 2016 Emmys.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus had fun texture perfect for her bob. Additionally, the off-center part was on par with the red carpet hair trend.
While I didn’t love Sarah Paulson’s gown, I did love her pixie cut and side fringe: Simply beautiful!

Julie Bowen had too much volume and an imperfect imbalance. As a result, she had a hair roll by her ear…too much!
Topknots are great, but Olivia Culpo’s appears to enhance her natural part. Consequently, her hair looks to be sparse in that area.
Apparently, Kelly Preston and her husband use the same doctor for awful Botox or filler injections. But her hair! I did not like the dark color. As a result, I suggest to return to your lighter days! Additionally, Preston’s hair looked dry and brittle, and sort of a throwback from the 60s when my mom had a similar bouffant top. Throw it back!
