Game of Thrones: Cersei’s Angry Eyebrows

Games of Thrones’ fans know the angry eyebrows I speak of. They belong to Cersei Baratheon, the incestuous villainess viewers are waiting to watch suffer some hideous medieval death. After a marathon viewing session of three seasons, Cersei’s angry eyebrows have become the subject of this Monday’s hair police piece.

Happy Monday hotties and welcome to this week’s hair police column from Ask the Pro Stylist. I sincerely hope you had a joyous Christmas. I sure did, and the break has provided me an opportunity to fall in love with Game of Thrones.

This Monday we focus on Cersei Baratheon, the character from HBO’s Game of Thrones played by Lena Headey. I’ve become somewhat obsessed with the series, just completing a marathon of three seasons in a few days. My sons recommended it, and now I am an addict.

For the unaware few, Cersei Baratheon is the bitch you love to hate. She is Game of Thrones’ Queen Regent of the Seven Kingdoms and a member of the golden blonde Lannister family. Her brothers Jaime and Tyrion played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Peter Dinklage, respectively, both have obvious highlights to create the signature hair color from the House of Lannister.

The problem with Cersei’s hair isn’t the color; it is the thick dark eyebrows set against the light hair. They do create a sinister look, which aids in the character’s flaws. Cercei shouldn’t be soft and inviting, and lighter eyebrows would only foster that appeal.

The Game of Thrones’ star doesn’t need a makeover for the character of Cersie. It works only for TV. However, please do not emulate the light locks/angry eyebrow style when coloring the hair, unless of course your aim is to look like Maleficent. Have your colorist tend to your eyebrows when dying. It should not appear artificial and shouldn’t be done at home.

Off to watch season four of Game of Thrones. I heard a hint of what happens, and I cannot wait to see that little shit get his! See you next Monday, until then, happy styling and Happy New Year!
