Happy Fourth of July! Welcome to How-to Tuesday with Ask the Pro Stylist. Today we discuss how to get and maintain beautiful hair.

Due to a hectic schedule, I have been lax in my posts. I apologize. I am now working 2 nights and 1 day in a salon, along with teaching. As a cosmetology instructor, I feel it is imperative to keep my hands on the hair. As a result, other responsibilities such as my love, my beauty blog, is suffering.

I am making every effort to follow up with readers’ questions and how-to posts. However, I am trying to marry the blog and the salon, bringing questions, how-tos and photos to you.

Beautiful Hair With Ask the Pro Stylist

The above photo is of a woman of a certain age. She feels she will eventually have to cut it shorter. Maybe she is right, but she can still rock this look.

We had a long discussion about box hair dye…the bane of my existence. Although she is aware of its harmful effects, her busy schedule and finances say otherwise.

While the color does look nice in the photo, underneath was a hair colorist’s nightmare. She will be back for me to fix the color, understanding it will take time to maintain its integrity. Additionally, I gave her affordable and natural options to quench the dryness from years of box color in order to have beautiful hair. She will try a monthly at-home coconut oil treatment to add moisture.
