Hair Advice From Ask The Pro Stylist: Best Oily Hair Shampoo
For today’s hair advice from Ask the Pro Stylist, we touch upon the best oily hair shampoo. Now, it was hard to decipher the reader’s email. However, I think I have the answer. The question has been altered for spelling and grammar corrections.
Whoop, whoop it’s Hump Day. Since it is Wednesday, it is time for another Q&A with Ask the Pro Stylist. This week a reader wants hair advice for what I think is oily hair. It has been edited, and she didn’t leave her name.
I have colored hair, but lately my roots are very oily looking and coarse. I have tried several different shampoos on my hair to get it back to normal. However, it still feels nasty. I just went and bought Biolage Shampoo this morning, washed it and no change. What can I do to get it looking clean?
OK! Where to begin? To give a proper response, I need more info. However, since she or he contacted me via my website, there is no return email address. Without knowing which Biolage shampoo was used, I cannot be sure how to answer.
Secondly, one shampoo will not take care of an oily buildup. The hair could be oily for a variety of reasons, including thinning. In addition, being oily will not make it coarse. It will be flat or limp.
Having color-treated hair will not make it oily either. Without doing a full face to face consultation, the only hair advice is to prescribe the best shampoo for oily hair. In addition, it will not dull hair with color. Instead it removes buildup.
According to product packaging, Shampoo Two from Paul Mitchell “helps minimize oil and add the perfect amount of body to flat, lifeless hair. The color-safe formula cleanses oily hair and the scalp, leaving hair feeling fresh and looking shiny. Deep cleansers wash away build-up without stripping out much-needed moisture while minimizing oil production in the scalp for the perfect balance.”
