Hair Care for Men: Battle Oily Hair and Dry Scalp

Hair care for men is the focus of this Wednesday’s Q&A, specifically how to combat both a dry scalp and oily hair. The photos are a present for my female readers. Happy Hanukkah!

Whoop, whoop, happy Hump Day hotties, and welcome to another Ask the Pro Stylist Wednesday query! (Hi Frank, I know you are reading, because you said you look forward to my “whoop, whoop.” You’re my Christmas present! Wink, wink.)

Today’s question comes from Rod and deals with hair care for men that are bothered by oily hair and dry scalp. His wife saw my friend’s Facebook post that I addressed with an article about Dawn Dish Detergent.

My wife saw Maggie’s Dawn Dish Detergent post on Facebook.  Then I read your post on the Internet. I have not found any hair shampoo that will get rid of the oil in my hair. I have oily hair and a dry scalp…go figure…lol. I don’t feel like spending hundreds of dollars for professional shampoos that don’t get rid of the oil in my hair. Any help would be appreciated.

Rod

I responded to Rod with a few hair care for men suggestions, and I have to say, the latter from Woody’s also makes a great holiday gift idea for your man. It’s a professional brand of men’s hair care with a masculine touch.

As long as your hair isn’t colored Head & Shoulders makes a great shampoo for oily hair and dry scalp. I generally don’t recommend non-professional brands, but like I said, as long as it isn’t color treated-no worries. My husband loves Woody’s Body & Hair Bar. It’s one product, so it’s saves some money, but it won’t tend to flakes in the hair, and it’s gentle enough to use every day.

If you have a question for me similar to today’s hair care for men query, please email me at DeirdreAHaggerty@gmail.com. As next Wednesday is Christmas Eve, I will try to post a Q&A, but not 100% sure yet. If not, I would like to wish all of my readers a Blessed and Merry Christmas, may it be as beautiful as you are!
