Hair Care Tips to Grow Out Bangs

Hair care tips to successfully grow out bangs is the beauty question of the week answered by Ask the Pro Stylist.

“Guess what day it is? Guess what day it is? It’s Hump Day woop woop”, says the crazy camel from Geico. It is also time to answer readers’ and clients’ beauty questions. This week’s problem comes from a mom who wants to grow her daughter’s bangs out, a common hair care concern as girls age.

“Victoria wants to grow out her bangs. What do you suggest?”

As Victoria sat in my chair, her mom asked me that question, which honestly I have heard many times before. However, this process has become easier since hairstyles have evolved over the years and side bangs emerged.

I suggested we cut side bangs and angle the sides to blend with the existing bangs that have already grown an inch over her eyebrow. This works well for preteens who want to look older. I also recommended frequent trims; it had been some time since Victoria had visited for haircut and the summer season had taken its toll on her hair.

If you have a question similar to Victoria’s bangs query that you’d like to see posted her next Hump Day, please email me at DeirdreAHaggerty@gmail.com. Remember, for optimal hair care, use only licensed professionals, take real advice from practicing beauticians and workout a hair care regimen with your hairstylist that includes frequent trims.
