Welcome to hair color and hairstyle how-to Tuesday. When my friends from IT&LY Hairfashion sent over a hair color and hairstyle how-to guide last week, I knew immediately I had to share the information with readers of Ask the Pro Stylist in a new weekly column that focuses on “how-to” do. This Tuesday we will learn how to complete the platinum hair color and the hairstyles attached from a renowned celebrity hairstylist.
Celebrity hairstylist for IT&LY Hairfashion Pasquale Caselle shared his hair color and hairstyle how-to for the following looks. Be forewarned do-it-yourselfers, this guide is for professional stylists and should be done in a salon, as IT&LY hair color is only available to licensed pros.
To get the platino, in Italian platinum, hair color, Pasquale created “Platino, a unique collection of varied looks to illuminate its beauty and splendor.” The model was a natural level 5 (light brown). Caselle pre-lightened her using Blondly from my favorite hair color brand, IT&LY, mixed with 40-volume Oxily Developer to achieve a pale yellow.
After her hair was shampooed and gently towel dried, it was then misted with Plusonda to condition and replenish the hair with vital nutrients and conditioning properties. Next, Pasquale dried the hair completely to prepare it for the toner application, which was a mixture of IT&LY’s Light + Passion’s Platinum Blonde with 10-volume developer, and then applied roots to ends and allowed it to process for 20 minutes. The hair was then shampooed and conditioned with Advanced Color Protection, an absolute favorite of mine.
Other lighteners sometimes compromise the integrity of the hair, a reason many are hesitant to make drastic changes. However, the ingredients within the IT&LY hair color line keep the hair healthy, conditioned, moisturized and shiny.
To style the following three looks, Pasquale added a cocktail of IT&LY’s Pure Fluid Experience and Pure Glaze throughout the entire hair.
The Curls hairstyle how-to:
- With a 1/4-inch curling iron, Pasquale Caselle curled the entire head with spiral curls in different directions.
- He sprayed each section with Pure Eco Volumizing Spray to set the curl without it being sticky.
- After the entire head was curled, he took a wide-tooth comb to loosen the curls.
- To arrange the curls and volumize them, he then took a small amount of IT&LY’s Pure Water Drops, and as the model leaned over he hand brushed the curls as he lifted the hair at the root area.
- To finish he had the model swing her head upright while he sprayed IT&LY’s Pure Definition Hairspray for hold and added shine.
Winter Solstice hairstyle how-to:
- To create this fantasy look, Pasquale gathered the sides and back into a tight chignon at the nape with additional Pure Water Drops for shine and ease in in smoothing.
- At the top and fringe area, he used IT&LY’s Pure Definition Paste and Extra Strong Gel to create the wet pin curl design.
- To finish, he added glitter for that wintery glistening effect, which honestly, we can happily say goodbye to and welcome spring!
Good-Bye Curls hairstyle how-to:
- For this short and sexy look Pasquale left the top and fringe area longer, which allows for versatile style changes.
- He added another cocktail of Pure Fluid Experience and Thermoflat and blew dried the hair with a small round brush.
- He created volume at the base with the brush that served as a hot roller and gave each section a blast of warmer air followed by cool to set into place.
- With a medium paddle brush, he smoothed the hair into soft sexy waves.
- To finish, he sprayed Pure Definition Hair Spray for a light natural hold.
Not only do I write about IT&LY Hairfashion, I use the hair color, hair care and styling line on my clients and myself. I have yet to find a brand that compares. Tune in next Tuesday for my how-to hairstyle or other hair, nail or beauty related guide.
