Ask the Pro would like to wish all of my readers a happy and healthy New Year and if you are in need of a little hair inspiration before you head out to party this New Year’s Eve, take a look at my list of the hairstyle trends of 2012, the year in review.
One of the biggest hairstyle trends of 2012 was healthy hair. Gorgeous celebrities, such as Olivia Wilde, walked the red carpets as if their hair was the epitome of health and vibrancy.
Stay tuned to this site for the latest products and hair care breakthroughs to help you achieve, shiny, healthy hair for the New Year. For now, I am a fan of White Sands Orchids, oil for the hair, due to its magnificent fragrance and gloss that doesn’t create a weighty, greasy feel.
The Boho Bun as seen on the hottest and trendiest celebrities, such as Jennifer Lawrence, Hayden Panettiere and Kate Hudson was one of the go-to hairstyle trends of 2012, thanks to its ease of creation and modern, yet classy look, perfect for any formal occasion or a day in the office.
Not to be out done by its more formal counterpart, the Boho braid or side braid, grew in popularity this year becoming one of the biggest hairstyle trends of 2012, however, traditional braids were overtaken by the fishbone or any other style the creative could master.
Curls and waves gained force this year, overshadowing the flat ironed hairstyle trends of years past, but of all the locks, sexy mermaid waves could be seen on the hottest celebrities in 2012 and make a festive New Year’s Eve look, easy to create with the right tools.
Extreme hair coloring also became one of the largest hairstyle trends of 2012 expounding on the Ombre highlights with fun color such as pastels and neons to create the newest look, Hair Dipping. Don’t be alarmed parents as the same color creations can be created using hair chalking, which is much better for the hair than the Kool-Aid craze that took over this past summer.
And finally, hair extensions, hair extensions and more hair extensions overpowered the beauty world this year as the hairstyle trend of 2012, adding length, fullness, and all of the fun color of above, without the use of hair dyes.
Thanks to all of my readers for making “Ask the Pro Stylist” such a success in a short period of time. Have a safe, happy and healthy New Year and tune in for all of the latest hairstyle trends of 2013.
Happy Styling!
