Happy Hump Day hotties, and welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s Q&A of the week. The question of the month has been what should I where for Halloween, and how should I where my hair? This especially rings true as Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and many will party all weekend long. Various professionals from across the United States sent me a few Halloween hair tips and ideas that are simple to recreate at home. I have only listed what I felt would be the most popular for 2015.

To begin the Halloween hair tips and ideas, we first turn to Pureology Artist Ruth Roche and her step-by-step guide to look like Flo, the Progressive Insurance Girl. Ruth says this style is best for shoulder-length hair, but if not, you could style a wig the same way.

  • For a man: Sweep hair to one side and comb back. Secure with a lot of hairspray and spray with orange hued blonde wash out die.
  • For a woman: Mimic the same look by creating a faux bob and then styling it into a comb over. This look will require lots of firm hold hair spray at the end.
  1. Start by sectioning your hair and pulling half up. With the bottom half of the hair, section that into two parts braiding each side.
  2. Wrap braids around the head and secure with bobby pins.
  3. Let down the top half of your hair and part your hair to one side, sweep hair over.
  4. Use hair spray to create texture and hold in your hair. Then comb hair, sweeping back.

In honor of the pending release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, reawaken a favorite Halloween costume with Princess Leia. Throw on a white dress; some boots and the force will be with you.

  1. Use a fine-tooth comb, part your hair down the middle, splitting hair into two equal sections.
  2. Pull each side into a ponytail that sits directly above your ear and secure it with an elastic tie.
  3. Take a sock bun and slide it over one ponytail. Slide the sock bun back out to the ends of your hair. Tuck the ends under the sock bun and begin rolling back toward your head, tucking in loose strands as you roll.
  4. Secure buns with bobby pins.
  5. Finish with lots of hairspray to hold everything into place!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2 is set to release November 20, when everyone’s favorite heroine Katniss Everdeen returns to the big screen. The odds will be in your favor with this stylish Dutch braid. Think of it as an inside out French braid or large cornrow. A black top, pants and some roughed up boots complete the look.

  1. Pull hair to the left side and follow from the top of the left ear, curving down to the nape of the right side when finished.
  2. Grab a small chunk of hair about an inch and a half above your ear. Split this piece of hair into three equal sections. Move the section of hair closest to the bottom of your head under the middle section and move the top section under the middle section.
  3. Add a small piece of hair to section on the bottom. Then, move the section with the new piece of hair, under the middle segment. Repeat this with the top section. After you have added the piece of hair in, move it under the middle section. Continue doing this as you weave your hair into the braid.
  4. When you reach the end, use a hair tie to secure the braid. Pull the wavy pieces loose to frame your face.
