Healthy Nail Products For Pretty Nails

In need of healthy nail products for pretty nails? A reader is on the hunt for healthy nail products that won’t cause a negative reaction in this Wednesday’s Q&A with Ask the Pro Stylist.

Whoop, whoop, it’s Hump Day, and time for this Wednesday’s weekly Q&A with Ask the Pro Stylist. This week Vickie wrote in searching for the best healthy nail products to have pretty nails.

Hi Deirdre,

I am allergic to gel nails, acrylic nails and gel polish.  I am looking for a polish that I can use that doesn’t break my fingers out.  When I have used those products in the past, my fingers (around the nails) have become itchy and swollen.  My nails are thin and peeling.  I would love to have pretty nails.  What product do you suggest?  I want to recommend it to my manicurist or if I have to, I will buy it and bring the product to her.

I look forward to your answer.

Vickie

Thanks for writing in Vickie. I apologize for the delayed response, as I have had many emails requesting hair and/or nails help. There are many healthy nail products that are hypoallergenic and available on the beauty market, however I recommend butter LONDON, which is what I am currently wearing.

Butter London is the “7 Free Company”. The healthy nail products within the butter London line do not contain formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, xylene, ethyl tosylamide, toluene and DBP, never have, never will, making for healthier cosmetics for the hands and nails.

An old remedy to naturally strengthen hair and nails is to ingest Knox Gelatine, as well as consume a healthy diet full of Vitamin D. Finally, I recommend hydrating the nail bed nightly with cuticle oil. But if you find yourself allergic, then I suggest olive oil or Argan Oil.
