Holiday Hairstyles 2014: Intelaced Updo
Holiday hairstyles 2014 have a natural feel with tousled looks and intricate braids. Fans of Dancing with the Stars might have spotted a few of the styles last week on Sadie Robertson, pictured above, (click the photo to expand) and Peta Murgatroyd, Tommy Chong’s partner. Truth be told, Ask the Pro Stylist preferred Peta’s look, as it had more detail like a woven basket, but Sadie’s is great for the under 30 crowd. Learn how to complete similar holiday hairstyles with this Tuesday’s hair tutorial.

Holiday Hairstyles 2014: The Interlaced Updo by Pepper Pastor
The Interlaced Updo, seen last week on DWTS, combines soft, flowing hair with subtle, ornate details. According to Pepper Pastor, “This look makes a statement! It’s also versatile enough to complement all the glitz and glam of the holiday season.”
- First shampoo the hair with L’Oréal Professionnel Soufflé d’Or Sparkling Shampoo and Conditioner for added shine and sparkle.
- Next, prep dry hair with L’Oréal Professionnel Perfect Texture Texturizing Spray for suppleness and added texture.
- Work the product from the ends to the roots and comb through.
- Apply L’Oréal Professionnel Perfect Texture on dry hair, and power dry into the hair.
- Use a large iron to barrel set the hair. Pin each barrel on base, dropping the entire set after cooling for 5 minutes.
- Apply L’Oréal Professionnel True Grip to a triangular section at the crown. Backcomb the triangular section keeping the volume further back on head.
- Continue by softly backcombing diagonal back sections on the remaining hair, leaving out two-inch strands of hair in front of the ears.
- Smooth the hair over the triangular section at the crown. Clip the hair at the base of the occipital.
- Smooth the two sections in front of the ears with L’Oréal Professionnel Smooth Velours, and create a decorative knot at the base of occipital.
- Finish with L’Oréal Professionnel Infinium 3.
All of the products listed are available at LPSalons.com. You can change the style by adding curls, leaving it straight or adding volume at the bang area like Sadie Robertson. Come by next Tuesday for another of Ask the Pro Stylist’s recommended holiday hairstyles 2014. Until then, happy styling!
