Holiday Nails Tutorial: Christmas Tree Nail Art How-To
Learn a simple holiday nails tutorial, Christmas Tree nail art, with this Tuesday’s how-to from Shannon of Seriously Nails.com. The holiday nails tutorial is simple and easy, even for the beginner nail designer, with the follow- along pictorial.
Happy Tuesday darlings and welcome to how-to Tuesday! I originally wrote the holiday nails tutorial for Examiner.com, but it is fitting for the holidays and bears repeating.
There’s nothing like festive nail art for the holidays! That’s why, once again, I have turned to colleague and friend Shannon of Seriously Nails for a holiday nails tutorial.
Shannon is a celebrity manicurist based out of Las Vegas with an intensive background in the beauty business. She was part of the Pamper Party crew for Battle of the Strands in October and has brought her know-how with nail art designs for Halloween and Movember.
Shannon surprised Ask the Pro Stylist with a holiday gift for Tuesday, an email with a holiday nails tutorial. Below are the steps, which coordinate with the photographs.
Holiday Nails Tutorial
- Begin with your favorite white polish.
- Let dry completely.
- Using a very small dotting tool or a toothpick dipped in dark green acrylic paint, start at one side and “swoosh” the color across the nail, beginning at the tip.
- Continue the “swooshing” motion from side to side, making the lines shorter each time.
- Draw the green all the way up, but leave enough room for a decoration on top.
- Using dark brown acrylic paint, make a backwards and upside down 7 at the base of the green to create a trunk for your Christmas Tree.
- Add a dot of clear coat at the top of the tree and decorate with whatever makes your tree happiest. Shannon used a star!
- Complete and protect the look with a good solid topcoat like Seche Vite.
