Happy Tuesday Gorgeous
Happy Tuesday Gorgeous! While I generally do not create posts on a Tuesday, I was given some interesting data. Apparently, we have developed healthy and unhealthy habits during this pandemic. So, how was your weight gain during lockdown? Did you pack on the pounds? What other unhealthy habits did you acquire or lose? Find out if you match other Americans in the following pandemic beauty survey conducted by Advanced Dermatology.
Weight Gain During the Pandemic
Statistics aren’t necessary to notice we have all packed on a few pounds this past year. Weight gain was so rampant because of the pandemic that the popular phrase “Freshman 15” earned a new moniker, the “quarantine 15.” However, a recent study from MarketWatch has found Americans gained much more than 15 pounds; some added 29-50.
Pandemic Beauty Survey on Weight Gain & More
It has been over a year since states began the “pause” on work, indoor dining and gyms, among other things. As a result, it has been felt physically, emotionally, and mentally with stress, instability of finances, overeating, and overuse of drugs and alcohol. Before we can move forward, we need to look at the what and the why to begin to make some healthy changes as the country opens. But, we can also keep some of the healthy habits formed. Advanced Dermatology recently surveyed 2,022 Americans to learn more about their unhealthy (and healthy habits) during the past year. How did you stack up?

The survey was a small sampling of Americans, with a focus on health and beauty. Sadly, many have suffered depression, suicide, alcohol and drug abuse during this time. In addition, we can never forget the 580,000+ deaths due to Covid-19 and the grieving families. However, there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel with the vaccines.
What might appear to be neglect have turned into trends. As a result, longer hair and thicker beards are back in style. In addition, gray hair and regrowth really is the new chic. And, might I add, I love not wearing makeup, and now prefer a minuscule amount. My skin has never felt better. A little mascara and I am good to go. Finally, those of us that cooked, and didn’t order takeout, learned new and healthier recipes along with budding chefs, which developed a passion for the culinary.
