Julianne Moore Met Gala Beauty Breakdown

As usual, Julianne Moore looked picture perfect at Monday night’s Met Gala. Wearing her signature plum lip, Elaine Offers for L’Oréal Paris provided the breakdown on how she created the Oscar winner’s red carpet look.

Happy Tuesday darlings, and welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s how-to guide for the week. Although I thought I’d focus May on spring and summer hair care, I was inundated with beauty guides from last night’s Met Gala in New York. Because I love Julianne Moore and her timeless beauty, I thought I’d feature her here instead. The 54-year-old truly epitomizes looking young and trendy for over 40 women, without appearing overdone.

Elaine Offers for L’Oréal Paris captured the Met Gala moment on Instagram, posting shot of Julianne Moore and some of the makeup from the beauty brand that I too happen to love. The makeup artist was inspired by Moore’s “gorgeous black Riccardo Tisci gown with jet beading and corseted accents. She debuted a shorter hairstyle and we used her signature makeup color palette of taupes and plums, amping it up a bit for the occasion.” The breakdown for the Still Alice actress’ red carpet makeup is as follows.

1. Elaine prepped Julianne Moore’s skin with L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Volume Filler Daily Volumizing Moisturizer.
2. She then blended L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation with Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer for a combination of coverage and luminosity.
3. To brighten up the face, Elaine dotted her go-to L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift CC Cream under the eyes, down the center of the nose and across the top lip
4. Next, she penciled in brows using L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Designer in Blonde and filled the upper lash lines with Infallible Smokissime Eyeliner in Brown Smoke.
5. Elaine defined Julianne Moore’s eyes with a selection of rich plum and chocolate hues from the NEW L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude Smokey adding Infallible Silkissime Highlighter to the waterlines to open up the eyes.
6. She finished off the eyes with coats of L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara.
7. To complete Julianne Moore’s Met Gala beauty, Elaine used both L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Lip Colour in Raisin Revival and Mesmerizing Merlot to concoct Julianne’s signature plum lip look.
