Katie Holmes’ Hair How-To: Get The Look

Katie Holmes’ hair was naturally chic for the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of All We Had. DJ Quintero, the master stylist behind the look, broke down how to recreate Katie’s soft and natural hair for readers of Ask the Pro Stylist.

Happy Tuesday gorgeous and welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s how-to of the week. Today DJ Quintero for Alterna Haircare who styled Katie Holmes’ hair for the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her latest film, which Holmes both directed and starred in, provided the step-by-step guide to recreate the actress’ sultry look.

Quintero wanted Katie’s hair to be “soft and natural, to contrast the sleek, androgynous style of her Zac Posen for Brooks Brothers suit. Overall, the look was clean, modern and sophisticated.” DJ’s breakdown of Katie Holmes’ hair is as follows.

1. Prep damp hair by liberally applying the Alterna Haircare Caviar Volume Miracle Multiplying Mist from root to tip, and let it sit for a few minutes.
2. Create a center part using hands or a small comb.
3. Roughdry hair using a blow dryer on high heat.
4. Create loose waves by wrapping sections of hair around a 1-½ inch flat iron
5. Run blow dryer quickly through hair again to boost volume
6. Liberally spray Alterna Haircare Caviar Perfect Texture Finishing Spray to create texture and light hold.
7. Add shine to finish by spraying a small amount of Alterna Haircare Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Mist to the ends.
