Learn How To Color Hair at Home The Professional Way
Learn how to color hair at home simply, easily and with the help of hair color professionals. Nope, it isn’t a box of garbage from your local pharmacy, but a root fix from a popular salon brand.
Happy Tuesday beautiful, and welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s how-to beauty guide of the week. Today we learn how to color hair at home, the best way.
As most of my readers are aware, I HATE BOX HAIR DYE! Why you ask? Since it is done at home most people apply all over. This creates unnecessary hair color buildup. Additionally, among other reasons, it ends up costing more for color correction than the initial cost of the box. However, I have found a happy medium for those that require touch-ups every 2-3 weeks without visiting the salon.
Redken, the popular salon brand responsible for permanent hair color such as Color Fusion, Color Gels and Chromatics, has the answer. Rather than following predecessors such as Schwarzkopf or Vidal Sassoon with a retail version of the professional brand, Redken has a salon fix. Redken Root Fusion is the first professional root-blending solution, prescribed by the colorist and personalized to the client.
The following is the most recent press release. Redken Root Fusion should run approximately $25.00, sold only at Redken authorized salons nationwide August 2016.
Root Fusion’s exclusive blending technology diffuses grays between salon appointments in 20 minutes or less. While it won’t prolong the time between salon visits, it takes the guesswork out of matching hair color with box dye. Additionally, it protects the integrity of professionally-color treated hair.
The kit provides just enough for one application to the part and hairline. Root Fusion is a single-use kit that is only available when prescribed by a professional during an in-salon hair color service. The kit includes one set of gloves, an easy-to-follow instruction sheet, low-ammonia Professional Root Retouch color (as directed), and developer. Additionally, one professional grade brush and a mixing bowl is provided. In other words, good luck finding this at CVS!
Each of the 27 Root Fusion shades matches all of Redken’s permanent color brands. This allows colorists to easily convert their client’s custom salon color to one they can take home and apply. Clients are now able to soften the visible line of demarcation between the natural hair and previously color treated hair between salon visits.
Learn how to color hair at home during your next professional color service. Simply ask your stylist about Root Fusion. Then, receive your own Root Fusion kit with your custom Redken color prescription for at-home use. In general, Redken recommends that the Root Fusion application takes place approximately 2-3 weeks following, and before the next, professional hair color application. In addition to blending your roots at-home, maintain your color with Redken Color Extend Magnetics Shampoo and Condition.
