Manicure Tips: Advice for Drying At-Home Manicures

Manicure tips, advice for drying the DIY at-home manicures is this Wednesday’s beauty question answered from a reader who loves the latest nail trends, but prefers to do them herself, at home.

Welcome beauty lovers, hairstyle followers and nail fashionistas. Every Wednesday. Ask the Pro answers a reader’s question having something to do with hair, beauty, makeup, and nails. This week’s advice is for a manicure-do-it-yourselfer, who like me, prefers to manicure the nails at home.

Hi Deirdre,

I don’t like to go to the nail salon. I prefer to do my nails at home. But now I have a new baby and don’t have the time to let them air dry. What do you suggest I use that will dry my manicure fast? I would appreciate any manicure tips you have.

Thanks for your help,

New mommy on Long Island

Congratulations on the birth of your baby. My nails were beautiful before I had all of my children and I have always preferred to do my own manicures at home. There are a few ways to quickly dry the at-home manicure using the following manicure tips.

  1. Pam or another cooking spray
  2. Running the nails under cool water
  3. The blow dryer on low
  4. Cuticle oil or if you don’t have (but I will assume you do if you do manicures at home) then use olive oil

One or all in combination will dry the at-home manicure swiftly. Once my boys were on a better sleeping schedule I could fit in the time for a manicure. I always preferred to do my nails when my husband was around to help or at night when I knew they were fast asleep.

Hope these manicure tips help. Feel free to email me at DeirdreAHaggerty@gmail.com to have your beauty question answered here on Wednesdays.

Happy Styling!
