Mens Hairstyle Guide for Round Faces
Today’s mens hairstyle guide is for round faces, an answer to a query recently received in my inbox. Although I have covered this topic before, this gentleman wanted a professional opinion on what shape his face was.
Whoop, Whoop, Happy Hump Day hotties, and welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s Q&A. This Wednesday we once again offer a mens hairstyle guide, tackling another question to determine a reader’s face shape.
Hi Mrs. Haggerty,
I apologize ahead of time, as I’m sure you have a very busy schedule. I’d like your opinion on telling me what my face shape is, and the resulting haircut I should aim to get? I’ve gotten mixed opinions to the shape from friends, but would like to narrow it down to its absolute shape. I regret getting haircuts every month because I go through a 2-week awkward stage until my hair starts to fill in.
Thank you for taking time to respond!
Upon first glance Fernando I could tell from your pictures that your face is round. However, I wanted to prove it to you, and then offer you a mens hairstyle guide for round faces.
Using your photo, I traced the shape of your face from the bottom of your chin, around your hairline and back to the bottom. As you could see from the marking on my computer it is more round than another shape. To confirm, I measured the length and width, and both are very close to equal.
You could do this yourself at home, or use the tips included in the attached hyperlink to measure the shape in a few simple steps. Although this face shape guide infographic from Philip James Salon pictures famous women and their face shapes, you could tell yours is similar, and the guidelines are basically the same as to what type of hairstyle would look best on you.
Not too long ago I wrote this mens hairstyle guide for a college student/client of mine. You would benefit with a little length, not too much, or little height on top, maybe even a little texture, like a messy look, with some hair falling on your face, but not too short.
The issue I see you having is your hair appears to be thick and coarse, which doesn’t bode well for the messy look. Instead of gaining length, you probably grow out. Ditch the barber and head to a hairstylist who could thin you out a bit and offer you some great styling tools to help create a modern, flattering hairstyle.
I hope this mens hairstyle guide for round faces helped you out. If you have a hair, nails, or beauty question similar to Fernando’s, please email me at DeirdreAHaggerty@gmail.com.
