All-Natural Skincare: Body Scrub and Lotion to Relieve Winter Skin

All-natural skincare is this Friday’s favorite beauty product of the week. After itching my legs, I realized it’s winter, and I haven’t followed my own advice to relieve winter skin. So, I broke out my all-natural skincare and began to alleviate my dry, itchy skin.

TGIF beauties and welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s favorite beauty product for Friday. In light of cold weather and dry skin, I devoted this week’s column to all-natural skincare that relieves winter skin.

Although it’s been cold, I kind of forgotten it was winter and wondered why my legs itched. Then I realized I haven’t adapted to the weather with my skincare regimen. So, I pulled out my favorite all-natural skincare, Simple Sugars all natural body scrub in lavender and butter LONDON’s Backstage Basics Signature Lotion.

Using a body sponge, I remove dead skin with my all-natural skincare. Exfoliation is important in the winter to relieve dry skin. The body, facial and foot scrubs are handmade with all-natural ingredients. It is ideal for sensitive skin and contains no artificial ingredients, parabens, phthalates, PEGS or sulfates. The Lavender smells amazing with the added bonus of relaxing the spirit as it exfoliates and hydrates.

It is also important not to use hot water. Although it is cold in the winter and the water warms you, the hot water dries the skin more. This is something I am very guilty of doing constantly because I hate to be cold.

Following my shower, I don’t towel dry, but apply baby oil liberally while still wet, and wrap a towel around me, letting the moisture absorb into my skin. Before I am totally dry I then apply butter LONDON Backstage Basics Signature Lotion. The non-greasy, lightweight moisturizer is perfect for winter skin, as it is infused with Shea Butter and Aloe Vera for a soft, supple feel. Needless to say, my skin has felt so much better.

My husband asked about an old tip I had mentioned to moisturize dry hands in the winter. He thought it was rubber gloves, but the trick is white, cotton gloves. Before bedtime, slather the hands in Vaseline, or petroleum jelly and cover in the gloves. Dry winter skin will be revealed by morning.

And those are my tricks for winter relief with my favorite all-natural skincare. Until next week, happy styling!
