Odorless Nail Products for the Fragrance Sensitive

Odorless nail products are the subject of this week’s Q&A. A reader wants some advice for quality nail products for the fragrance sensitive.

Whoop, whoop it’s Hump Day and as such it’s time for Ask the Pro Stylist’s Q&A of the week! This Wednesday Becky wants to know the best odorless nail products for those that might have fragrance sensitivity. Her question is as follows:

Hi Deirdre,

I am a new nail tech and will be setting up in a fitness center, so I am looking for odorless nail products. I have purchased Star Nail gel products, and I am not a big fan of them, they don’t seem to last a week or two. Anyway, I have to get some good products and I would like your advice on some odorless gel, acrylic, and Dipping systems if you don’t mind. I would truly appreciate it.

Thanks for writing in Becky. To begin, most nail techs within the salon said your quest for the best odorless nail products are trial and error. Because fragrance sensitivity is a subjective issue, what works best could vary. Additionally, as the nail industry is one of the fastest growing in the industry, new innovations are always popping up.

For instance, as I was standing near a nail service, someone complained about the odor. To be honest, I couldn’t smell a thing. Furthermore, 2 nail techs could use the same product, yet one might last longer. This could be due to several factors: experience, technical ability, and what the client does with her nails once she leaves the salon.

The best advice we all agreed upon was to attend the beauty trade shows that come to your area. There are a number that occur throughout the year in the country. Of course the best is my favorite, the International Beauty Show. Here you will find education and the newest nail products in the industry.
