Old Men with Mullets: Men’s Hairstyle Don’ts
Old men with mullets sounds like it should be a reality TV show, and who knows, maybe someday it will be. For now, the outdated men’s hairstyle is another victim of Ask the Pro Stylist’s Hair Police, and a definite don’t for any age.
Happy Monday gorgeous, and welcome to another edition of Ask the Pro Stylist’s Hair Police. I missed this past Friday’s Favorite due to unforeseen circumstances, but I promise to return this week with a beauty review of my new preferred eyeliner.
This weekend I saw too many old men with mullets. I’m talking gray hair, long mullets and gray haired zipper headed mullets, thus this Monday’s Hair Police.
Mullets were not in style when they were in style, and OMG my DH sported one in all of our wedding pictures. But, to see old men with mullets 25 + years later is just a violation of all things hair sacred.
This is the age of the metro male, when men really put an extreme effort into their appearances. However, I am not sure which is worse: a 65-year-old-man with money, nice clothes and a groomed mullet, or a schlump with an ungroomed one.
My advice is to ditch the dated hair and step into the millennium, which BTWs, is not new, we are 15 years in. So, old men with mullets, cut it off, but keep your edge. Just because you are of a certain age, doesn’t mean you need to look it. You just shouldn’t have a hairstyle over 30 years old. Invest in some new styling products and look hot. There are so many great men’s hairstyles for every age.
