Guess who’s back? Ask the Pro Stylist and with a new business venture; online cosmetology tutoring. I return following a sabbatical of self-discovery, dabbling in various industries, and realizing my love of beauty, specifically beauty education.
Beauty is Deep Within Me
Cosmetology has been my vocation from high school and I am passionate about passing on my knowledge. Since moving out of New York State, I’ve had multiple tutoring requests for the cosmetology state board exams. However, I have denied them all due to distance.
Then, while commuting to a less-than-fulfilling position, my eureka moment exploded…DO IT ONLINE GIRL! I did it during the pandemic, so why not now?
Why You Could Use a Cosmetology Tutor
There is nothing wrong with getting some extra help before taking the cosmetology state boards that determine your licensing credential. It’s either pass or fail. If you fail, you must retake, pay another fee, and retest. If you pass, you will receive your cosmetology license, and only pay the minimal renewal every few years or so (varies state by state – some states require additional education – buy my book for details).
Perhaps it has been a few months since graduating and you don’t feel prepared. Could also be you missed important information in school. There is no judgment here. I can prepare you for the written or practical in a few tutoring sessions.
If you have your clocked hours but it has been years since you attended cosmetology school then you must contact your state to see if you are required to return to an accredited DOE-approved school. I can assist with determining your requirements, which would result in a coaching session.
