The latest hair color trend, pink Ombre highlights, combine two of the hottest fads in hairstyling over the past couple of years, thanks to celebrities such as Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato.
Ombre highlights, meaning to darken, gained in popularity a few years back at the same time creative coloring with bright neons and pastels became commonplace. As hairstylists and kids tried to mimic the colors of Katy Perry with extensions, hair chalk and more permanent hair colors, a new trend in hair color emerged creating Ombre highlights with bright hues.
Ilyse, seen in the photograph, had her washed-out red dyed to her natural color of medium brown. She had blonde and faded cotton candy pink underneath that was evened out with Rusk’s “Atomic Magenta,” to create her own variation of pink Ombre highlights.
Pink is her favorite color, however, the original color she used was done without the use of a salon professional. Creative coloring tends to have a higher fade rate as the products, even the professional ones, do not use natural pigments and when done at home, a trip to the salon is always inevitable to correct the color.
Ombre highlights can be any fun bright neon or pastel color, however as mentioned above, the unnatural shades fade extremely fast, even with pre-lightening. A fun alternative to this permanent hair color is to use hair chalk or clip in extensions to change the hairstyle as you would change the accessories of an outfit and then you too can enjoy all of the colors in this latest hair color trend, pink Ombre highlights.
