Press-on nails in an amazing gel shine ultra smooth finish is this Friday’s favorite beauty product of the week. But don’t be fooled nail fanatics; you still need a few tips for the perfect press-on nail application.
TGIF said no hairstylist or nail technician ever! Welcome to another edition of Ask the Pro Stylist’s favorite beauty product of the week, where I review cosmetics, hair care and everything nails. This week I tackle press-on nails from KISS, specifically the Gel Fantasy kit of press-on nail art.
I generally don’t like any type of artificial nail on myself, and prefer to go au naturale. However, as I had somewhere to go, I sampled the press-on Gel Fantasy nails, and was impressed by the simplicity, durability and ease of application. I am always in a rush, so a few of my nails were glued too close to the cuticle, were crooked and I selected sizes too big, totally my bad as I applied them in five minutes.
The kit from KISS of press-on nails comes complete with 24 nails and two ways to apply, glue and adhesive tabs. As I was pressed for time, I chose the glue application since it is how I learned to do nails when I attended beauty school. I suggest fitting the nails and lining them up according to which nail each press-on nail adheres to. Additionally, as I am right handed, I should have applied the nails to my right hand first because I was all thumbs when applying the press-on nails to my right hand with my completed left hand. Also, take care not to glue the press-on nails to close to the cuticle and remove the nail art as the directions indicate.
Considering my hasty application, the press-on nails didn’t come out too bad. Stop by for a visit next Friday when I review another beauty product from the hair, nails or makeup categories.
Happy Styling and TGIF to all of you who are off tomorrow!
