Salon Visit Disaster: Expensive Haircut Wrong Product Recommendation

A salon visit disaster that includes an expensive and uneven haircut along with the wrong product recommendation is on this week’s chopping block. If you are a victim of the above, then take a journey in today’s Ask the Pro Stylist Hair Police.

Happy Monday beautiful! Since it is Monday, it is time for another of Ask the Pro Stylist’s Hair Police when a beauty faux pas is brought to task. This week’s error is a salon visit disaster.

To begin, I was not available for one of my clients. As a result, she went to a pricey salon in Manhattan.

The cost was high, resulting in an uneven haircut, which I eventually evened out. I mean it wasn’t just uneven, but there were obvious longer hairs around a shorter perimeter. By the way, it wasn’t to create an edgy look. The bottom line, the stylist didn’t check the cut.

Additionally, my client was sold a hair treatment for coarse hair. She has fine-medium texture. How in the world does this stylist not know this? But does she care about the guest or more about the commission?

So, what could you do to avoid a salon visit disaster? Yelp reviews are helpful, although often times out of control. Wait for your stylist if you can. And finally, ask questions. Read the labels, and ask to see the back. Don’t be afraid to speak up. It could just be the stylist is having a bad day.

Men's Haircuts

Stop by next Monday for more Hair Police sightings like today’s salon visit disaster. Until then, happy styling!

The beautiful young man in the photo is my son, whose fade, men’s hairstyle I cut yesterday. To be clear, he is not the client with a salon visit disaster.
