Saturday Morning Gossip: Beyoncé and More Gel Manicure Chatter

Happy weekend hair and beauty lovers! This Saturday morning, let’s dish on Beyoncé, her alleged lip-synching and the orange gel manicure she reportedly wore to the Inauguration.

There is nothing wrong with loving the way you look and doing whatever you can to take care of your hair, skin and nails, and I am here to help you along the way and bring you the latest news and innovations at the best possible prices, with a little celebrity gossip thrown in for flavoring.

Immediately following Beyoncé’s performance at President Obama’s Inauguration, I received the following email from Red Carpet Manicure spreading the gel manicure love.

“As the red carpet season continues tonight with the 57th Presidential Inauguration, Beyoncé, who will be singing the National Anthem, has already begun her beauty preparations for this afternoon’s festivities.

Beyoncé will be lighting up Capitol Hill with her hot orange nails as created by celebrity manicurist, Lisa Logan.

‘When Beyoncé walked in, she just plainly said, ‘I want orange.’ So orange it was!” says, Logan of Beyoncé’s look.

To get the look at home, Logan recommends Red Carpet Manicure’s “Tangerine On The Rocks.”

Let us know if you’re interested in additional comments from celebrity manicurist, Lisa Logan, or info on Red Carpet Manicure.”

As I recently wrote about gel manicure safety and Michelle Obama’s Jason Wu Inaugural gown, I was looking forward to capitalizing on additional Inauguration page views and swiftly sent over these gel manicure questions for Logan.

Where is the salon located if she does? Other celebrity clients? For my clients, and me, we have noticed excessive use of the gel polish causes dry brittle nails and I have been writing about correcting the damage caused from using gel nail polish too often. What does Lisa recommend for nails that peel from gel.

I look forward to hearing from you.

It has been since Monday and I haven’t heard from the PR firm that represents Lisa Logan who apparently fashioned Beyoncé’s tangerine gel manicure for the Inauguration. Not only has Beyoncé been tight lipped in answering the lip-synching  “National Anthem” allegation, but it seems her celebrity manicurist is remaining eerily closed mouthed on gel manicures as well.

“Hey Deirdre, Just wanted to follow up with you on this. Not avoiding you by any means. Lisa is currently traveling and has limited access to email, but we continue to follow up with her.

Thanks for your patience!’

Although gel manicure safety has been called into question lately, I do believe the at-home kits, such as the one offered by Red Carpet Manicure, poses less safety risks as salon gel manicures because, as I had mentioned in other articles, the set uses an LED lamp as opposed to a UV lamp. But as I have repeatedly advised in the past in all things hair and beauty, everything should be done in moderation. Gel manicures are fine for special occasions, not bi-weekly repeated use.

The world and I will be watching Beyoncé and her lips during Super Bowl’s Halftime Show to see if the diva is really singing or lip-synching to one of her tracks, for about three seconds, then revert to eyeing her hotness strut around the stage. Wonder what she will wear on her nails?
