Short Hair Mistakes: The Hair Police Strikes Again
Short hair mistakes are prevalent in the cooler weather when turtlenecks, scarves and jackets interfere with the hairstyle. Of course the hair police noticed the common hair faux pas in church, where a photo cannot be snapped. But, I do have a few suggestions to avoid short hair mistakes in the future.
Happy Monday mamas! Welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s weekly hair police column, written today as I inevitably notice hair disasters on the weekend. This Monday features short hair mistakes most common in the fall and winter.
This isn’t a terrible hair police violation. Chances are offenders aren’t even aware of the dents created on the backs of their necks and in the hairline caused by tight scarves, high-neck sweaters and coats. So, how can these short hair mistakes be avoided, thus not offending those behind you?
Short hairstyles look best with longer necks, as in the attached photo. A winter accessory will rarely ruin your hair with a nice gap between hairline and collarbone. However, if you have short hair with a shorter neck, then make sure the clothing lies over the hair, so as it doesn’t push the hair up and create an unruly look. It is a very simple fix, often overlooked as we rush to dress.
Visit me next Monday to make sure you aren’t on my hair police list like this Monday’s short hair mistakes. But, please understand, I am not trying to be mean, just bringing hair awareness to all.
