Warm Lemon water is this Friday’s favorite beauty product of the week as its benefits are truly beyond belief. This simple and affordable daily regimen reduces puffiness, especially around the eyes and helps with digestion.
TGIF beauty lovers and hair aficionados! Welcome to Friday’s favorite beauty product of the week when Ask the Pro Stylist touts the benefits, or not, of a terrific new find. As someone that suffers with Diverticulitis, for the past 17 years, I have never been one to complain about my intestinal issue, nor do I want surgery or feel the need to take pharmaceuticals. I am still too young for that and as it took so long to diagnose because the doctors couldn’t believe this is what I had, I have been dealing with it holistically.
Even before this issue arose, I have always been a firm believer in drinking my fill of water daily and avoid soft drinks and sodas; actually I don’t even keep them in the house unless I am entertaining. Cameron Diaz recently appeared on The Dr. Oz Show and suggested drinking water first thing in the morning: first brush teeth and then drink up for regular bowel movements, (she said poop). Shortly after that article, I ran another piece about the women from the TV show Hot in Cleveland, who also visited with Dr. Oz. Wendie Malick suggests to drink a cup of warm lemon water before brushing your teeth every morning.
The warm lemon water detoxifies the liver, cleanses the intestines and reduces puffiness and swelling around the eyes. Drinking warm lemon water has been a daily beauty regimen of mine since first publishing these reports. I keep a pitcher of lemon water in the fridge, and every day I drink a cup of warm lemon water, brush my teeth, drink eight more ounces and then have my coffee. I do need that cup o’ Joe in the morning. Not only has my “issue” been at bay, but also puffy eyes, which could be caused by too much salt or wine intake, crying, allergies or just being a tired mom, have been reduced, dramatically.
Other than the internal benefits of warm lemon water, the little yellow fruit also acts as a collagen booster and decreases the appearance of age spots and lightens under eye circles. Lemons are inexpensive, as is filtering water, so give this Friday’s favorite beauty product of the week, warm lemon water, a try, but please do not mistake this as medical advice. I am stubborn with no health insurance, if you suffer from Diverticulitis you must be treated by a doctor.
