What Hair Color Brand Covers Gray Hair Best?
What hair color brand covers gray hair best? “Ha ha ha,” chuckled Ask the Pro Stylist in her most maniacal laugh. This question was asked of me recently, and since it is a popular one, I’d thought I would touch on it again.
Whoop, whoop, happy Hump Day hotties, and welcome to Wednesday’s Q&A with Ask the Pro Stylist. A beautiful person, and unwitting suspect asked me a question this weekend, “what hair color brand covers gray hair best.” NO, I didn’t want to make her the butt of my box hair color rants, but felt the topic is one many ask, so I decided to re-advise readers on my feelings about the box.
In your opinion what is the best at home hair color brand that covers gray hair for dark brunette hair?
My answer was short and to the point….”I have no answer,” I said, because I honestly can never recommend any hair color brand for the home. However, I can suggest salons, colorists and a variety of professional hair color brands.
I continued with, “Although I write and work in a law office, I still do hair out of my home for a few friends and clients. I have seen way too many mistakes with box color. And although they say safe, what happens is people become too reliant and do more damage than good. Also, box color for dark hair is like magic marker, it is an awful stain, which when not used properly, never comes out. I suggest finding an affordable salon to do a high-gloss semi-permanent color that covers gray and adds shine. The less you wash the longer it stays in, and your hair will thank you!”
