Why Occlusive Argan Oil Works to Moisturize Aging Skin

TGIF!

TGIF gorgeous! As it is Friday, it is time for another weekly favorite of Ask the Pro Stylist. Today we discuss occlusive Argan oil, aging skin and what I recommend for hydration in this week’s beauty product review.

Aging Skin

Oily skin has been a blessing for me. Until lately. As I enter what is now my early fifties, my skin is drying up; like an old prune laying in the sun. In all seriousness, it might not look that way, but it sure feels it. And this is normal ladies. While we approach menopause, are in it or through it, women of a certain age can identify with the dry skin dilemma. You see, as we age, our skin loses the ability to retain water. Tell that to my abdominals please! Add dry air such as heat from a cold and snowy winter, and yuck, your skin could feel like sandpaper and you itch more than usual.

What to Do for Dry Skin

In general, when the warmer and more humid air returns, so does my moisture. But, this winter was tough and I needed to change up my skin care routine ASAP. By the way, it is always advisable to alter your regimen for a change in seasons. In addition, always remember to layer according to the thickness of the beauty product.

What is Occlusive Argan Oil?

Essentially, Argan oil has occlusive properties. Well, what does that mean? Argan oil prevents water loss from the skin by creating a physical barrier. In addition, Argan oil includes naturally occurring anti-inflammatory agents and anti-oxidants such as Vitamin-E and linoleic acid. Therefore, not only does it keep moisture in, but it also helps the skin to absorb age-defying ingredients.

Friday’s Favorite Creates Dewy Skin and Moisture

Dewluxe Facial Oil from Bioelements

Without further ado, please let me introduce this Friday’s favorite beauty product of the week; Dewluxe from Bioelements. Dewluxe Facial Oil is occlusive Argan oil with squalane and sea kale. Squalane lubricates and sea kale improves epidermal stress. It creates a natural dew because it is lightweight. In addition, it is vegan and gluten free, and has wonderful aromatherapeutic benefits. Use twice a day over face, under eyes and on the neck with your favorite creams and/or lotions. I highly recommend it! Side note: my lips were chapped and since using are now back to kissable!
